NVR Hardware and Software Recommendations
My old analog cameras recently kicked the can, and I somewhat impulsively bought 8x Amcrest POE cameras to wire up to my homelab. I’m not sure what I would need in terms of hardware and software. I am only aware of Frigate and Blue Iris, but I’ll be excited to know if there are alternatives that may suit my needs better! I’m planning on deploying a Frigate container in Unraid and having the server process everything, however I don’t like having one server do EVERYTHING in my setup.
– Motion detection (I have a Coral TPU)
– 24/7 recording straight to Unraid NAS (SMB/NFS)
– Somewhat high framerate ~15 fps?
