Cloud computing’s impact on business and IT cannot be exaggerated. In a few short years cloud has evolved from an emerging trend to a foundational component for the vast majority of organizations. IDG research in 2017 showed that 89% of organizations are getting significant business value from cloud computing. 
However, moving applications and business processes to the cloud is not always a simple undertaking. To realize the cloud’s core benefits — agility, flexibility, cost savings, control and speed — organizations have to pay attention to several key issues, including implementation complexity, impact to culture, and necessary skills. To discover where enterprises make their biggest mistakes, we asked cloud influencers and practitioners to expound on common pitfalls. Two challenges stood out in their responses: strategy and security.
