Very stupid question: if I accessed a printer with google dorks and the print something would that be illegal? submitted by /u/PutYourNameHereNow [link] [comments]

I’m trying to solve an internet mystery, and that means getting a hold of an old email from 2006. I found out yesterday that the password was leaked in Collection #1, but I have no idea how to access the Collection #1 leaks. (I found one site that had them, but a membership costs several thousand dollars, which is money I can’t afford to spend right now.) Is there a way to access the leaked passwords without spending an arm and a leg (and not having my credit card stolen)?
(I apologize if I sound kinda stupid, it’s just that technology is not my strong point.)

I don’t think this post is against the rules since I haven’t actually been hacked yet and I still have access to my account.
My PSN account has two factor authentication enabled and I have just received 6 different authentication codes to sign into my account. I am not trying to sign in and I haven’t given my login details to anyone else so I know for sure someone is trying to gain access and whoever they are they already have my email and password.
I’m more concerned by the fact that they keep trying to sign in even though they keep getting stuck at the two factor page. This makes me think they might also have my email login and they are trying to spam me until I reset my password so they can receive the link, reset it and lock me out my account.
What should be my course of action? My email doesn’t show any signs of suspicious login or activity but I’m a little hesitant because they seem to be very persistent. (Received another two authentication codes as a write this). Is it worth changing my password since they can’t login anyway and my email and password combination are unique for only my PSN (so they can’t password spray)? Should I wait for the notifications to stop just in case they are waiting for a reset link?
Thanks in advance

I hope this is the right subredd for this. So a peace of human garbege wrote to my gf on fb asking her were are doughter goes to kindergarden and the he "hopes he meets her soon". It was a private account and probebly a fake one. But is there…
I was dumb, yet again. Apparently, this is my year. And you guys were so helpful a couple of weeks ago that I come back to the community to seek some guidance and help. Ok so to make a long story short… I downloaded a file that shouldn’t have downloaded and run an exe file that I shouldn’t have run (bare in mind, it is something I needed to do, for work), wither way… MY antivirus blocked it from running, and stupid me tried to run it once again as an administrator (yeah… my self destruction instinct was strong in this one) but my golden antivirus once again blocked it from running… however now I am scared that by doing that stupidity a ransomware or a rat might have entered my system (which are the malware things I fear the most, since I am not a millionaire and live my day to day surviving of which I can get in my bank account to pay rent, food and help my mother). I also used Malwarebytes and it came out as 0 detections. Should I be worried and take action or was it a close call?

I have an employee that I suspect is stealing and planning on taking customers. No cameras in place. I’ve seen messages pop up that they delete referring to theft and downright trying to ruin my business. They’ve put themselves in a position where leav…

Hello everybody! I’m a software developer with tiny understanding in networks. Few months ago I entered a gaming site which is called – slither.io which runs on http port 80. Since then (after months) every time when I reset my laptop and then run the command “netstat” I see connection established to foreign address “slither:<high port>” sometimes its 19200 and sometimes its 49800 (but it’s always high ports – not the first 1024 ones). Whenever I run the command “netstat -ano” I can see the process (PID) that runs/is connected to this established connection – which is always something like 6620 or 7208 etc… when I got to the task manager under details, I see that it is always connected to mysqld.exe process (which is really installed on my computer for software development reasons). Whenever I “end task” of this PID – the established connections are gone. but whenever I reset my laptop – the established connections to slither.io are back with different ports and different PID. I tried to add slither.io into my hosts file in system/etc – and it really blocked it (and I cannot reach out to it through the browser or http request) but it is still keep on coming back and appearing in my netstat results screen. I wonder what kind of virus / trolling act could it be ? Be glad to get some help how to remove those established connections to my laptop whenever I reset and open it. netstat -ano command (where i can see PID 7208) MYSQLD.EXE PID 7208 connected to this established connection of slither. submitted by /u/B73xIt4111 |
