Budget Security Camera Setup for Privacy Conscious Person?
I am trying to make a POE setup of 2-3 outdoor cameras and a doorbell cam (wired to doorbell but will have to be wireless signal). Trying to keep the setup under 500$ and willing to buy used cameras, used NVR (change hdd of course), switch etc. I mostly just want two main features:
- Phone Notifications of motion detected
- Being able to access live feeds from phone without worry of data being sold/stolen/etc
So far I decided on reolink cameras and simple 4 or 8 channel poe+ switch from tplink, but I do not know where to go from there. Reolink NVR? Make my own PC with NVR? Blue Iris? Home Assist? VLAN?
I tried looking around but there is so much info I wasn’t sure where to go from choosing my switch and cameras. What would I need other than the switch and cameras to setup my security system that I can securely remote access to without worries of my data being sold and get notifications from my phone?
