Had a search about Reddit but not found much from recent.

I’m after an easy setup wireless WiFi alarm, the likes of a Ring or similar set up with panic button for around £300 mark is looking ok but would like a cellular back up. I’ve seen ring has a £8 a month option to just simply text a few phone numbers if the alarm goes off or if I press the panic button. It seems a bit much when a pay as you go SIM would do the job.

Does anyone know of a similar alarm system that you can just add your own pay as you go SIM card to avoid the monthly cost?

Its only really my family who live nearby that’d get the alarm call. Would maybe getting them to download the app for the alarm system work? So they get all the notifications?

Other option is a 4G backup for the router but I think these can take a few minutes to kick in. Basically my main worry is if a burglar breaks in and immediately cuts the router or the external feed from the duct. But they I guess they could still unplug the 4g back up too. So just any ideas relating to this.

I don’t really need a system with cameras as I intend to set up a Poe NVR system separately. So just the sensors, sirens, fobs, key panel, panic button.
