Our GE system is throwing a SN9 PIR LOW BATTERY code. The thing is, our PIR (DT8035V) is hard wired. Any ideas what’s going on? I’ve confirmed this is the only PIR. submitted by /u/uDntWinFri3ndsWsalad [link] [comments]

I currently have a 5yr contract with Fluent (Alarm.com subsidiary I believe) that is finally expiring this July. If I decide to switch to another security monitoring service I have to let them know starting this Thursday. While I have had really no issues with Fluent, their equipment, and app services I really don’t want to be stuck in another 5yr contract. My current setup is just some door, motion, and carbon monoxide sensors. I’m possibly looking at SimpliSafe but I wanted to see if anyone had any recommendations or perhaps should I just stay with what I know? Thanks for any advice.

I have a ring wired doorbell and two ring floodlight “security” cameras.
I’m happy with the products, except that if we are out of the house and someone tries to break in, I need to activate the sirens manually in real-time. This isn’t ideal.
The other day, someone forced entry into my gate and then got spooked when they saw the camera. However if they had just continued on, they could have robbed me. Ring only helps if you are watching in real-time. But if you don’t have access to your phone for 10 minutes, you could miss the whole thing as I did the other day.
I would purchase the Ring Alarm system, but unfortunately it’s not available in Australia.
I’d love to be able to set “Away mode” when me and the dog are out of the house, then have some kind of auto siren when a person is the garden. I could link the Ring Chime and have it play dog barking noises, but these sound extremely fake, and you can’t upload your own sound files.
Any solutions? I don’t think google nest has automatic security functionality either since they got rid of nest secure
