Recommendations for a solar charger for a hotspot for a remote IP camera installation

My company needs to place security cameras in a remote location. The solution is to use a mobile hotspot with a solar powered wifi ip camera. This solution should work fine as long as the remote location has a power source for the hot spot. However, I’m looking for a solar charging solution for the hotspot which will make this set up completely portable.

I’m looking for suggestions for a solar powered power bank which will work for this situation. I would like to find something a little more robust than a consumer power bank. The hotspot’s battery is a 3000 mAh.

Weatherproof Outdoor Receptacle or Directly Connect Cat6 Into Security Camera?

Hey all,

This is my first time setting up an outdoor security system. My electrician just laid Cat6 cable to various outdoor points of the house.

Here’s my current setup:

  1. NVR – Reolink RLN16-410-4TB
  2. Cameras – 8x Reolink RLC-81MA
  3. Doorbell – Reolink Video Doorbell PoE
  4. Cat6 Cable – Monoprice Cat6 Ethernet Bulk Cable

For the exterior cameras, should I install a weatherproof receptacle and then use outdoor rated Cat6 cable to connect it to the camera from the receptacle or would it be sufficient to just connect the Cat6 cable directly to the camera and push any excess back into the wall?

The Cat6 cables coming out of the exterior walls are already in the correct place for my cameras.

Also, let me know if there’s anything else I should consider with my setup. Thank you!
