Husband and I want to look for new security and video system.

He likes everything connected via smart home – smart light bulbs, smart switch, everything controlled via voice command to turn of all the lights or so and be done. He wants video and smart doorbell and all those for connectivity and viewing on a phone.

I’m wondering about hacking, what happens if wifi goes down, or power goes down, then all of the videos don’t work anymore.

Is there any easy to understand and setup options that would be easily integrated into a smart system but can also work if wifi goes down or such? I’m assuming not but thought I’d ask. We also don’t know anything technology wise so..all these acronyms and specialty terms are over our heads.
