just bought a house and the owner left behind the adt ademco inc adt7aio series

We are just getting settled and I’d hate to invite any unnecessary aggressive hyper sales people into the house. I really don’t want to destroy the environment with bad memories of awful sales pitches before we can have a chance to enjoy our new home.

Must I call ADT to reset the codes that the last owner left in this unit or is there another way? I’ve been trying to find a reset button, so I pulled the entire panel apart, I have circuit boards everywhere but I still don’t see a reset button. Seems more like a programming thing.

I’ve been hounding the realtor for over 6 months to get something from the previous owner, still nothing. This thing is like a paper weight to me since I can’t do anything on it. It keeps asking for a code and there is nothing on google to help. I’ve been searching and trying at this off and on for months. Has anyone else had this problem? Should I just toss it out into the land field and just start all over.

It has all the bells and whistles. Sensors everywhere, on all the windows, and all the doors, would be a shame. I’d throw it away before considering contacting a monitoring company to reset it for ridiculous fee and ongoing subscription.

If anyone can help me reset it back to default then I can take it from there and set it up how I’d like. Otherwise, I’m trashing it and getting something that can still use the sensors already installed. The only sensor that is failing is the one in the garage on the window, it needs a new battery. Other than that, visually everything else looks like it could work, if I could start from scratch that would be key.
