Full smart system build – not reliant on third party servers
Hello!
I am researching to build a home security system that does not rely on a specialist home security company to host and run the system.
Specification:
5 outdoor cameras – wired. I am looking at IP PTZ cameras.
Local base station with NVR and camera controls.
Capability to add other sensors like door open sensors.
Siren/Alarm that can be triggered manually.
App to be able to view the camera feeds and trigger alarm if needed.
The easy option is to go to simplisafe or one of the many other companies supplying full kits but I do not want to be locked in to a specific company for running the system.
I can build this system fairly easily if I didn’t want remote access as there are plenty of options for hardware to do the things I want. I am hoping someone knows of a smart device with an app that can use either my own server or a different third party server.
