Camera options for a renter

Hello,

I live in Australia and rent a house with quite a strict landlord that won’t allow me to drill/hard mount anything to the house. The area I live in is also notorious for break ins and car thefts. I work for an emergency service and constantly do call outs at various times of the night leaving my house very prone to be a target. Combine this with the paranoia I already have from my job, I’ve wanted to set up security cameras for a while.

I’ve got 3 exterior zones (back yard, front drive way/yard and the side access to back yard) that I want to put security cameras. I was originally planning on having the cameras indoors and just looking out the windows of these zones, but I’ve heard this is not great during night time due to glare from the light on the camera ruining footage.

I’ve considered everything from window suction cup mounts, magnets and 3d printing a mounting system (I’m horrible at CAD design though). I also an unsure about how to power everything if it was exteior, as again, strict af land lord.

I was wondering if anyone had a solution/camera and mounting combo I could utilise to protect my home and partner when I’m away on jobs at god knows what hours. Preferably looking for a camera system with good motion detection software that can alert me away from home.

Thanks in advance, I can provide more details if needed.
