Options for dead battery in Interlogix NX-458 recessed door sensor?
My 12-year-old system has what appears to be Interlogix NX-458 recessed door sensors, which look like this. Assuming that’s what they are, they’re “discontinued without replacement”. Grrr.
The units each have a 15-year non-replaceable (lithium?) cell, and my first one went “loss-of-supervision” last night, at a cell voltage of 3.0V. I’m inclined to just cut off the existing battery and attach a new one. Have you got a suggestion for a replacement battery? The one it came with is a form factor I’ve never seen before: 11.5mm dia and 60mm long.
If I don’t find a replacement cell for it, I could try to find a replacement device. This ELK-319DR claims compatibility with 319.5MHz panels, but I can’t find anything explicitly saying it’s compatible with my NX-548e wireless receiver. Any thoughts or suggestions?
