Summer Security Conferences 2023

Hey! I’ve compiled a list of this summer’s security conferences. Recommend you to hurry up and buy tickets!

UberConf (Denver, CO, U.S.A. & Online, Big Sky Technology, July 18-21) – Educational event for software engineers and technical leaders. Topics include: Software Architecture, Modern Java, Leadership, Security, etc.

WeAreDevelopers World Congress (Berlin, Germany, WeAreDevelopers, July 27-28) – It is the best place to get a complete overview of recent insights and future trends in modern software development. Some of the security talks: “You click, you lose: a practical look at VSCode’s security”; “Turning Container security up to 11 with Capabilities”; “A hundred ways to wreck your AI – the (in)security of machine learning systems”, etc.

The Diana Initiative (Las Vegas, NV, U.S.A, The Diana Initiative Inc, August 7) – A conference committed to helping all those underrepresented in Information Security. The Diana Initiative features multiple speaker tracks, and villages with hands-on workshops (e.g. “Thriving in Cybersecurity: Empowering Neurodivergent Individuals through Dynamic Self Support and Emotional Regulation”; “BlackHoodie – Introduction to Reverse Engineering workshop for women”)

DeveloperWeek CloudX (San Mateo, CA, U.S.A., August 15-16 & Online, August 22-23) – The premiere international cloud computing conference, where you will learn how some security efforts can be barriers to those who use assistive technology. You will also explore what is missing in most organizations, the intersection points between developers and security.

HITBSecConf Phuket (Phuket, HACK IN THE BOX PTE LTD, August 21) – At this conference you can gain insight into next generation attack and defense techniques. You will find out what attackers will be focusing on tomorrow. Some of the talks: “How to Design Your Own Electronic Attack Device”, “Rogue CDB: Escaping from VMware Workstation Through The Disk Controller”.

Haken Open Air (Gifhorn, Germany, Stratum 0, August 22-26) – Finest hacker camping. There will be many opportunities for self-organized talks and workshops. You can discuss any security-related issues and find like-minded people.
