PoE video systems — does 24/7 recording noticeably degrade home network performance? If so, what’s the best PoE system for recording only when motion activated?
I’d have four PoE cameras, 4K resolution. Two questions:
1) Does 24/7 recording (four 4K cameras) actually degrade home network performance in any noticeable way? Or is it a complete non-issue?
2) If it does noticeably degrade network performance, what’s the best system for recording only when motion activated? I see that Reolink, Ubiquiti, and various others seem to have that option in their settings, but I also see a lot of reports that the motion-activated recording simply does not work very well. I’m curious if there’s an undisputed champion of reliable motion-activated recording amongst PoE camera options.
