Leaving my car unlocked could be a smart option?

I recently had a car break-in. Nothing was stolen, but the window was broken and the car was ravaged. The break in inspired me to install some security measures, but I’m thinking that clearing out the car so there’s nothing to take, arming the car alarm, and unlocking the car doors might be a smart option.

  1. I clean out the car so it’s as empty as the day it was bought. Nothing in the center console or the glove box. Nothing in the vanity mirrors either. Thieves will find absolutely nothing to take.
  2. I arm the car alarm. Honestly I never new my car had an alarm system in the 10 years that I had the car. I bought the car without a key fob and never looked into getting a key fob. After the break in I looked into getting an after market alarm system, but come to find out that the care already had an alarm system if I lock it with a key fob
  3. Leave the doors unlocked. This is more iffy and I haven’t tried it yet. Thieves usually try the door handles to see if it’s unlocked before smashing a window. I cleared the car out so they won’t see anything on the seats of the floor. Not seeing anything should discourage them from going any further, but if still want to proceed and try the door handle, the door will open and the car alarm will go off, this should heavily motivate them to leave the area entire instead of hanging around

So yea. I’m ready to be ripped apart in the comments.
