New build / single woman – what should I keep in mind?

Hi all, new to the sub. I’m having a house built from scratch and I am thinking through things I would need to know before we get too far into the build from a security perspective.

The house is 2000sq. Ft in the US, bedrooms are on one side and living spaces on the other. No basement, largely one floor except for the primary bedroom.

I’m a bit overwhelmed by all the lock and security options, and would appreciate from this group on narrowing where to start or any brands / products to look into.

I don’t want any video in my home (I think) but I’ve read video doorbells are key. I’m torn on if I should get a smart lock or not (are they actually safer?). Also I think flood light(s), motion sensors (have 4 external doors and a lot of windows), sirens? No idea. Do I need to do anything special with my doorframes to enforce them so no one can kick them down?
