Interior Ethernet jack for exterior camera installation = good or bad idea?

So I just KINDA finished my first DIY PoE exterior camera installation, and everything seems to be in working order. I wanted some advice about cleaning up my installation on the inside (picture, wider picture to show that it’s an upstairs room with windows that lead out on to a roof over garage). I followed tips that I found posted in multiple places here and elsewhere on reddit (drilled downward angle from inside to outside, pushed through insulation portion while drill was not spinning, etc). If it matters, the house was built December last year.

In those pics, the Ethernet cable used is a 100 ft outdoor cable, which is entirely too long for what I wound up using for (I initially had other plans for it). I would like to shorten/re-terminate it, and connect it to inside-wall-side of a wall jack (front, back). My server and switch is inside a closet that is away from this room, but I have a different wall jack nearby that is also receiving PoE from the switch. The end result will, simply put, be a connection from nearby jack to the interior jack’s room-facing side, to reach the PoE camera outside.

Is this a good idea? Are there things that I need to be mindful of, what with a connection being made in an insulated wall? Any advice would be welcome. I don’t want to start a fire or anything.
