Hey there, wanted to get some advice on deciding between a few different Hikvision POE cameras. First, I can share what I am looking for.
I am looking for exterior cameras for my house, located in a neighborhood. I would ideally like cameras that can identify people, vehicles and license plates (if possible) both during the day and at night. The cameras will be mounted about 10-12 feet above the ground on the house and will be at most 50 or so feet from the street. As for exterior lighting (at night) there will always e ambient lighting from the neighbors’ homes but wouldn’t be overly well lit, will still be sort of dark.
I have been doing a lot of research and think I would like to go with Hikvision as the brand and ideally an 8MP turret.
Now some things I would like to try and avoid. I live in South Florida so it can get pretty buggy outside, especially at night. I would ideally like to avoid using IR or a camera with a constant spotlight on. Since there is ambient light around, it would be more looking for a camera that takes ambient light and makes good use of it. Not saying I am opposed to cameras with spotlights (ColorVu for example) just that I wouldn’t be using the spotlight on it.
I have narrowed my search to these 3. Do you have any experience with any of them, are their alternatives you’d recommend?
Also, if it’s helpful, the placement of these cameras will be front entry, side of house, over garage, back patio.
