Ideally I’m looking for recommendations of budget-friendly, adequately-performing PTZ cameras with high levels of optical zoom that can be used with standard or open-source NVR software and aren’t locked down to some proprietary app. I see some brands like “Ctronics” and “Funxwe” on Amazon that claim 30x zoom and onvif support, but do they really? and how good/bad do these perform if you try to stream to a DVR over their wireless link? Are there any such brands or models out there that people can actually vouch for? PoE would be nice, but if the wireless actually works, and in a secure environment (e.g. doesn’t require streaming through ‘the cloud’) that would be great, too… I have some installation locations in mind where I can get power to easily, but CAT6 not so much.
