Receiving OTPs from Random Apps
Hi Everyone,
I am recently facing an issue and I would like some help/guidance from you guys. A couple days ago out of nowhere my secondary mobile phone number started receiving OTP messages of random applications. In a span of 3 – 3.5 hours I received around 8 OTPs from different apps. I began worrying and contacted my service provider, their representative told me that if I don’t give those OTPs to anyone I am completely safe and shouldn’t worry.
But I was still worried so eventually I turned off that SIM as I don’t use that number much. Once turned of I had peace of mind but now today a few hours back I received OTP for my WhatsApp account on my primary phone number along with a notification on my WhatsApp stating that a login attempt has been done somewhere for my account.
I little thing I would add that a few weeks ago too I received OTPs for my WhatsApp account and I contacted WhatsApp and they said that as long as I don’t provide my OTP to anyone I am good.
All these happenings have worried me and I would really like some help/guidance from you guys. Thankyou
PS: I have 2FA on almost all my accounts.
