Hi everybody I’ve been working as a software engineer for the best part of two years now and I’ve learned a significant amount both technically and how the professional world of tech works.
In the last 6 months I’ve been doing more and more cyber security training and have started pentesting and ctfs and I feel like I’m becoming better and better,
Any advice on how I’d make the transition from SWE to a more security based role? I’ve asked for more responsibility and training in the area at work and for my longer term goals to be in this area so I can be the go to person for security in my team but that’s just a start.
Would I need more qualifications or would sufficient experience as a swe with security roles be enough for employers?
