What are some cheaper DIY (or just cheaper products) for homesecurity? I want to just buy some items on Amazon to build something simple but effective. I want a drive-thru sensor to notify me if someone pulls in my driveway; basic parts would be a sensor pad, receiver, and a few other parts (I think).
I’ve been using old smartphones for security cameras; by using IOS/android apps for the camera software (presence, Alfred). I’m thinking about using a lighting system that uses lasers when motion is detected, I might have to buy a few Raspberry Pi’s. I just want simple ideas that require mostly basic items. Please share any ideas you might have, and/or send me to a resource suited for this.

I’ve been interested in creating malware for educational purposes, nothing more. I know creating malware and testing it on your own personal device isnt illegal, but spreading it to others is. So here’s something i’m starting to wonder. Is it legal if i ask one of my friends if they can run my malware on their device, giving them full details of what it does and everything?
