I am looking into replacing a very old DVR system that we use to monitor our factory (approximately 15,000 sqft) and looking for suggestions. I’ve read here that Bosch, AXIS and Honeywell are all well-respected brands. We will be relocating where the recorder sits so will be running all-new cabling so we are not yet locked into DVR or NVR technology. I’m leaning towards going PoE and CAT-6.

Here are some details/requirements I’ve come up with so far:
– About 8 cameras mounted approximately 30-40 feet from the equipment they’ll be monitoring.

– We’d like 4k resolution (or equivalent in the security cam world).

– Ability to record 24/7 and retain 7 days of footage for all cameras. We don’t require any hard disk redundancy but it would be a plus if doesn’t increase the price too much.

– GOOD Windows/Mac/Android/IOS apps for viewing camera footage. Huge plus if I can change the HTTP/HTTPS port on the DVR/NVR and access remotely with a login.

– The longest possible cable run is about 200 feet and will likely be closer to 150.

– Detailed night vision not a huge concern but would be a plus.

– No budget has been established yet. Excluding the cabling I’m hoping to keep this below $2,000 but am open to expanding that.
