Live on the ground floor of a heavily trafficked walkway and we have a back-door that opens up on to said walkway. Recently been having some problems in the neighborhood with people lockpicking doors and making off with whatever they can quickly grab inside and trying to upgrade my security of said back door, but the problem is that it is an outward swinging door that’s in a heavy recess compared to the surrounding door frame (over 7 inches). Both the frame and the door itself are steel.

The current setup is because I have a 3 year old and we’ve got what little we have there to keep him away from it.
