Intercepting Camera video feed
Hi, I am a software developer but I have basically 0 real knowledge regarding networking or reverse engineering, so I hope you might be able to guide me in the right direction.
I have a cheap LTE solar camera, in it’s locations there is no electric grid or internet access. It’s just there to check on some piece of land.
I want to extract the video feed to process it on my own, details don’t really matter here but basically I want to do some object detection and store video clips with timestamps and other info. Since it is LTE and cheap, it is not constantly recording anywhere besides the SD, which I cannot go an backup frequently enough.
The buggy app it comes with it’s only available for Android & iOS, otherwise I could just connect a raspberry pi screen recording. Also, I do not think there is any time of encryption going on so I think I should be able to get a direct connection.
I tried using PCAPdroid to get an IP of the camera, but I barely understand what anything means and I have had no luck so far. Next thing I guess is to emulate android to either intercept the connection on Linux (somehow I bet there are more powerful tools to do it), or just straight up screen record the emulator with the app and call it a day.
So, how could I get the video feed? Maybe the IP address of the camera or something. Thanks you!
