Trying to Prepare for CompTIA on My Own…

I jumped on board for this IT and Cybersecurity Fundamentals class at my local community college – thought it’d be a cool move. Put in the application, got all excited about the upcoming course. But hold up, life had different plans – I got a new job that’s got me grinding till 7 PM. And get this, back when I signed up, the class seemed like a mix of in-person and online stuff.

So, I sent an email to the prof, hoping maybe there’s a way to swing some remote learning via Zoom. Explained my time crunch and all that. Got a speedy reply, but here’s the twist – the class is a full-on in-person deal, no virtual option. Talk about a curveball. The advice? Hunt for other courses that sync up better with my new job reality.

Went hunting, and it seems most evening classes kick off at 6 PM. So, I’m thinking, maybe I’ll roll up my sleeves and take on the challenge of mastering the CompTIA A+ certification solo, so then I can get a help desk job or other entry positions. Any of you fine folks out there gone the self-taught route and actually cracked it, landing a solid gig in the industry?

Sorry if I rambled a bit, just needed to get this off my chest. Appreciate you all hearing me out!
