electrical load calculations for smoke detectors

I’m designing a wired security system and I’m not sure how to calculate the electrical load for the security system. I’m using a DSC neo system and I’d like to add wired smoke detectors to it. When I look at the documentation for the smoke detectors (4-wire models), it seems like each one uses “25mA – 90mA”. This is confusing. I’ve got 20 of these things, so multiplying that out across 20 detectors would be 500mA – 1800mA. How should I count the electrical load for the smoke detectors?
