I have a Night Owl DP8 DVR. It will allow me to put in my password and it accepts it, but then it goes into lock mode again. Unfortunately tech supports only solution it to keep trying to reset the password and on the fifth time that doesn’t work they tell me the DVR is defective. I purchased a lower grade 1080p N.O. DVR, however it doesn’t work with the 4k cameras (despite both bnc connections). I can get video from 1rst channel on the main screen but that’s it. Does anyone have any suggestions? Your help is greatly appreciated!

We have a 2000 sqft home with a 1000 sqft detached second building.

We need 5 smoke detectors as the main protection due to our location. We live on a mountain top and our neighbor’s home burned down in March. We don’t have a hydrant at the house but rather the bottom of the driveway which is ⅓ mile. With no neighbors, if we aren’t home we have to rely on someone calling in if they see something from the road.

5 door sensors and two locks would be nice additions.

Because of the fact that we may want one building secured while the other is open, I’m not sure if we would need to pay for two panels and two monitor fees. We can connect both buildings with WiFi but when we get power outages, we are the last ones to be restored, so cellular monitoring would be preferable. Speaking of which, can the bases be put on a small generator in the case of a long power outage?
