Hi all,

So I had been using an Aosu doorbell for a while and it was just not very reliable, so my wife and I decided to get a new one. While my wife was looking she found one and asked me what “PoE” is and I instantly got excited because I love having wired devices, so we bought it. It’s a Reolink, which since installing I’ve learned isn’t that great! I set it up last night and push notifications were very iffy. I just wouldn’t get notifications on my phone when the doorbell was rung. Then today I tried to open the app while at work and it just said that it couldn’t load video feed. When I got home I removed and disconnected it like four times and it eventually connected. Now it seems mostly fine, but I’m not getting any kind of notification when the doorbell is pressed. My wireless chime IS working, so in that sense I’ll be fine as long as I’m at home, but then at that point, what’s the point in having a smart doorbell???

Any advice is appreciated. I’m also very open to suggestions on BETTER PoE doorbells. I’m hesitant for the ring elite because it’s too wide for the space I want to mount my doorbell, and I also hate paying a monthly fee just for my doorbell camera.

My family is looking for cameras cheap (Not sure what is cheap or expensive; think $200-250 range) for our front yard. Something easy-ish to set up. Wired is fine. Something that uses an app to view footage would be preferable, also something that doesn’t require a monthly subscription.

I’m not sure how these systems work but I am assuming you could get like a package with a hard drive and 2-3 cameras? Please tell me if what I’m looking for doesn’t exist.

For context our neighbors dog attacked our dog. We shot (and killed) their dog. Ours is missing, presumed dead. We are worried they will get aggressive with us or damage property. Not sure if context helps when choosing a (camera package?) Thank you guys so much in advanced.
