I’m wondering what is stopping us regular IT/Cyber Security/Software fluent citizens from joining in cyberwarfare with countries like China, North Korea, and/or Russia. This isn’t a manifesto, call for action, or any move trying to make a Cyberwarfare group in anyway. I don’t know of any laws stopping us. I’m just curious as to if we went to war with one or all three of them how many US citizens would join the efforts? Russia happily supports and pays for cybercriminals/cybersecurity professionals and as far as I know the US doesn’t do that to the same level. We’re obviously the most technologically advanced country in the world, with the biggest tech companies and the best cybersecurity teams. So if we went to war, would us tech fluent citizens join in the efforts or would we stand by, twiddle our thumbs and let the U.S./NATO government employees do their job? This is a fair discussion, nobody’s opinion is bad, just trying to see what redditors think with all the WW3 news going on.
