I just bought a wireless camera for my parents. I was just wondering, are wireless cameras usually accessible outside of your home network? I haven’t set the camera up for outside access, and to my knowledge, it isn’t cellular, nor does it even have a subscription of any kind. Somehow, though, it can still be accessed outside of the network its on. I just found that a bit strange since I’d assume you’d need to manually do the work for that, setting it up in your router, etc. Do some wireless cameras do the work for you once initially set up? I’m just concerned about the security of the camera. I wasn’t expecting to be able to access it anywhere, which caught me off guard.
