TIL home security prices are truly absurd
I saw a Bay Alarms quote that was more-than-5-times-higher than my own quote for a similar system. It’s like people are protecting their homes by giving away all their money to highway robbers. I may get back into security camera systems design and installation now that I know the profit margins are akin to dr^g dealers, but, with security systems, you have access to financial systems, don’t have to launder your profits, and don’t have to worry about opsec and your competition trying to kill you. What is up with this world that Bay Alarms can charge $5,000 for a $1000 camera install, and THEN charge a huge monthly fee on top of that installation absurdity? wowwow. wow. Literally considering re-entering the market and doing residential (I used to do small commercial).
