So I have a Air conditioning unit from a 1996 Japanese car that I think is pretty cool and I want to install it in my own car I do have a plan for this but I need help getting started. From what I understand so far the climate control sends some kind of values to a set of servos and that in turn changes flap positions which changes where air blows feet, face, defrost etc. What I am trying to do is find out what protocol its using and then look for said values so I can have a Arduino or Pi trigger a switch. So basically would anyone know how I could get started sniffing then interpreting the data being sent by this climate system? it already doesn’t rely on a cars ECU and works even when the system is out of the car and is powered as its own unit. any help would be awesome. Thanks if you need more info it is a Digital climate unit from a 1996 Subaru legacy.
