Question about linking cameras with Ethernet switch
I recently ordered a Rio link 12 megapixel camera system, and lots of other equipment to set it up.
I did my research and I think that I’m able to do this but I just wanted to ask Reddit because I know you guys will be able to tell me for sure.
My question pertains to linking all of my cameras using a 8 port gigabit ethernet Smart switch with POE plus. I figured I should get a pretty good switch, but my question is Am I able to link all four cameras to the gigabit switch, and then connect the switch to my recording device?
All of my ethernet for my cameras will be run in my attic, I would then connect all of those to the switch in my attic and just run one line down to my data recorder.
I’m probably not using the correct terms but I’m hopefully explaining this so that someone can answer me. Thanks a bunch in advance for reading and answering.
