I’m in the early stages of designing a house, it’ll be on a few acres in the woods. I am curious what I should be thinking about during the building phase. I’m doing owner builder so I have a lot of freedom in companies and technology. I’m well versed with technology so not too worried about the stuff being easy to set up, if the increased complexity brings real benefits.

I plan on having accent lights and security minded landscape lighting. I’m a little concerned that this might cause issues with night modes on cameras?

I plan to have a hidden safe / panic room that is accessible from the bedrooms and will contain the server storage for video so cloud storage isn’t important but I would like to be able to check and get alerts.

I would like door window sensors as well, preferably without a lot of battery changing.
