Hello all, I have been lurking here for the last few weeks, and seeking some suggestions. I’d like to install a few security cameras around my home. I can understand that for 24/7 recording, which I prefer, POE is the best option, but for me running cable through the attic of our two story home is quite difficult (almost impossible). On the other hand, I already have two power outlets on two sides of my home at 8′ height. So I was wondering if you could suggest me some cameras/installation tips to put 6-8 cameras around my house. Here are my criteria:

1) Cameras that are powered over regular power outlet and can record 24/7. I plan to install myself. Is 8′ a good height to put the cameras on? My power outlets on the sides of my home are at 8′ height from which I plan to pull cables. Also, any suggestion/recommendation on the cable and how to weatherproof them? How do I hold the cables to the sidings. Are there any clips available for this purpose?

2) I’d like the have human/animal detection, and phone notification based on these on my phone, but I don’t want to pay a subscription fee. I have strong WIFI around the home. Is that enough for me to access videos remotely later? Can I get notification based on human/animal on my phone?

Also, are there cameras that meet the above criteria except the power, can use solar power or rechargeable batteries instead and can record 24/7 for months?

Also, just came to my mind that, since the cameras are not connected to any NVR (or could I connect to something externally?), could the footage be recorded on some SD cards inside the cameras? Would I be able to access footage remotely then or even get notification based on human/animal?
