I have two Reolink RLC-823a’s and this corner bracket.

I plan on installing it in the rear and routing the ethernet underneath my vinyl siding but I have these two questions: 1) can you just drill into the exterior walls and expect the camera to be held up? Do I still have to try and search for a stud?

2) as can be seen in the pictures, the centerface of the bracket makes contact with the corner of the house and the side arms of the bracket do not reach the side of the house in this position. I assume I can drill into house and it’ll bend the bracket and make it flush. I’d like to check with you guys though.

If anyone knows of a video where someone does this, I will totally appreciate it. All the videos I’ve seen are people installing cameras on vinyl soffit or near an attic. None of them have been installing cameras to the side of a house not near the vinyl soffit.

It isn’t technically for security – it is for reversing a 40 foot boat. Bluetooth gets glitchy at that range based on other experiments. Looking to mount something similar to a Ring stick up cam, that can be accessed from an iphone/ipad when reversing the boat onto a marina (or checking fishing lines etc.) There’s an existing wifi network on the boat for other electronics, but it isn’t usually internet capable. Can access the internet for setup etc – but most use cases won’t have access. Any ideas or recommendations? TIA
