Home security reccomendation

So i have zero experience with home security, but I’m thinking about getting some camera’s in and around the house (non US btw).

I want to place a 2-3 camera’s indoors and 2-4 outdoors, but I don’t really know what to do/get so I’m looking for advice. I was thinking of buying some webcams, cables, ir lights and hook it up to a pc (with an extra usb controller card to be able to handle all of the camera’s) and run some surveilance software on it.

If anyone has any tips or better ideas, please let me know. My main requirements are cost (as cheap as possible, whilst somewhat decent) and the camera’s being smaller/less noticable.
