Looking for a solid outdoor/cold weather wired security camera system and I have no idea what I’m doing

Like it says in the title:

I have a new cabin on my property, and I want to put up some cameras, because I’m not going to be able to be there all the time (as it’s a cabin, not a house) and, well, it gets really cold there. I also have no experience with security cameras beyond a Google Nest on my doorbell. I have concerns about vandalism in the area, though, and want to protect my investment and not show up for some weekend camping to find all my stuff gone or windows busted out.

What I think I want:

  • Extreme cold weather viable (we’re talking operation to -20 degrees Fahrenheit or lower)

  • power-over-ethernet, wired cameras. I’m going to be drilling holes and running cables through conduit on the outside of the cabin (for protection from wildlife), due to construction constraints. I don’t particularly want to rely on my local wifi system for camera connectivity, and fully wireless cameras with batteries will die instantly in the cold, so they’re a no-go.

  • Solid mobile + desktop app for alerts, remote viewing

  • Nominal local recording capability

  • Planning on putting up 4 cameras, but I may want to expand that later based on my initial experiences and coverage

First find: My searching online brought me to Lorex for a NVR setup, which has indoor/outdoor rated cameras with a lower operating temp than others that I’ve found (Ubiquiti, Nest, Night Owl). What do the experts here think of their systems? Is there something better I should look at? If you’ve used a Lorex system, how’s the remote experience?

Thanks for taking the time to answer my novice questions!
