how to Ensure RAT has been removed
lost $400 today. someone used my PC while I was at work to access my Gmail and my Amazon and purchased gift cards. making the 2FA for google and amazon pointless in this situation. as they just seen it as my computer. I can see it in my browsing history on my computer. but I cant seem to find what they used to do so. used defender and malwarebytes to scan. they found nothing. looked at active connections, checked a ton of the PID against task manager… still don’t see anything. I don’t know what I don’t know. other then there is a lot a don’t know. heck I cant even guarantee I’m on the right track. (at the exact time of the first search they did on google… 2:04pm… there is an application error log in event view for PhoneExperienceHost.exe. but there is so much stuff in event view that… maybe that’s nothing at all. and it just happens to have been at the same time)
would it be safe enough to assume reinstalling windows will fix it? or what…. any ideas?
