recommendation wanted: 1 simple wi-fi outdoor camera compatible with "mixed" router? (both 2.4 and 5 GHz)
My cable-internet company told me to avoid any camera packaging that says it’s only good with a 2.4 GHz wi-fi connection; it probably won’t work for me, because the router I have is considered “mixed” like BOTH 2.4 and 5 GHz. I’m a bit of a tech newbie, so I don’t understand the particulars.
But when I went shopping for a basic security cam (<$50 or so) I noticed that EVERY SINGLE ONE on the shelves had packaging that specified only a 2.4 GHz wi-fi connection it would work on!
Can anyone recommend a basic cheap outdoor camera (limited range is fine, it’s only to keep an eye on my cats) that works with this particular type of “mixed router” scenario I have? No wiring, no home networks, no SD card, just the plain old cam + its app that I can install on my tablet to view the video footage in real time. Thanks!
