I am resetting an existing Dahua system as I don’t know the admin password.
I’ve never played with CCTV stuff so I have a few questions.
Situation
There is 1x Dahua NVR and 5x Dahua IPC-HPW5831R Cameras.
I have reset the NVR and one camera.
I have enabled P2P on the NVR and added the NVR to the DMSS mobile app.
The cameras are plugged in to the existing switches on the network (not in the switch integrated within the NVR).
The switches are not managed switches.
There are typical home devices on the network (4 Apple TV’s, 4 iPads) etc
I will admin reset the remaining cameras.
My questions
1. Should I just add the camera’s to the NVR and then add the NVR to the DMSS mobile app? Or should I also enable P2P on each camera and add each camera to the DMSS mobile app?
2. If I want to enable motion sensing alerts to the DMSS app, do i do this through each camera config or can this be done at the NVR config?
3. The cameras are 15fps@4K(3840×2160),25/30fps@3M(2304×1296). I prefer faster fps, so should I just lower the resolution to the highest FPS? If i do this for all cameras? Is there a best practice rule to follow?
5. Should i adjust the compression or bit-rate?
6. Lastly, should i enable A/V encryption?
Thank you. I know that I could research these, but I am feeling very time-poor at the moment and was hoping someone with experience would be willing to help
