I had the Eufy wired doorbell, indoor cams, floodlight cams.

I’m switching to RING because Eufy’s software though fairly customizable (a bit more so than RING in some aspects to hardware) RING’s software is more reliable. RING is a bit more smart without letting you customize how it is smart- Eufy allows your feedback for AI.

Eufy prices are cheaper than ring especially if you buy multiples. RING has refurb options in the US which allows significant savings.

To be honest 60days of free RING storage is decent enough so Eufy’s no subscription marketing/system doesn’t really make a difference to me (if you’re a large business and need to keep long histories this would be different). Eufy still allows for a cloud storage subscription though, otherwise everything is store in the homebase or camera itself.

My main gripe is that doorbell ring and talk lag too much on Eufy. People who ring the bell typically leave the front door after 3seconds. Doorbell chime is immediate on my phone but to talk back I need to take my phone out of pocket, open app, wait for app to load and wait for doorbell to talk to person… creates much lag.

Eufy’s floodcam (the basic 2K one) is well built, but I personally don’t like the white light. Ring’s floodlight PLUS has a warm light, but has mostly plastic. The mount is plastic which is a bit of a let down for a crucial structure.

Somehow I think the Eufy flood has more false triggers when just installed, somehow it lessened after a few days. By then I already had enough and purchased RING. Right off the bat RING rarely has false triggers. I find it also has a smart motion sensor since it’s a dome rather than a strip which allows for downward sensing as well.

Setup: Eufy floodlight cam is also bulky in that the base sinks into the electrical box so you really need to route your wires efficiently to make room for the base. RING floodlight base is the opposite- it has a concavity for wires to be anywhere. Ring floodcam has a strap to secure to the mounting plate which is a better, more flexible system then Eufy’s S hook made of metal- it also hangs a bit too low.

I would like to be able to turn off the RING indoor cam blue light but haven’t found a way yet.
