Hi all, not sure if this is the right sub to ask this, let me know if not and I’ll take it down.
I’m moving into a rental apartment that has an electronic door lock (unlockable via key code and fingerprint). The landlord supposedly has access even if I change the password, like a master key, but assured me he won’t come in unless it’s an emergency and I’m unreachable. I have 2 questions:
Aside from the landlord and assuming I change the password once I move in, how secure is this type of lock?
Is there anything I can buy to prevent the landlord from coming in, just in case? Or at least anything I can do that’ll tell me if the landlord comes in while I’m not home? I’ve already bought a camera that will alert me if it detects movement.
