Very new and just looking at options so I’m honestly just looking for suggestions for security systems that aren’t connected to the internet and would just feed directly to say an office computer, if that’s even a thing they make anymore given the reliance on the internet these days.

Hi there, my home in Brooklyn has a flat roof with a deck we enjoy on occasion. The deck is accessible through a staircase from our top floor and through a bulkhead door.

The door was super old and it was causing roof leaks, so we replaced it with a beautiful fiberglass exterior door. It’s beautiful, as the top portion is windowed.

This is where we have some concern. Someone could hypothetically punch through the window and open the door. We couldn’t add a storm door, since this door is outward-swinging.

I don’t think it’s a huge concern since people rarely are on the roof. All houses on our block are attached flat roofs, and a neighbor could hypothetically walk from theirs to ours, but it never happens. That said all it takes is once.

We intend to alarm the door and put a visible ADT sticker on the exterior. We also have two protective doggies.

But, reddit fam – is there anything else we should be considering?
