Hello!
I’m building a new construction home in western Massachusetts and am looking for a professional installer/servicer to help complete and install a Qolsys IQ 4 “hybrid” system. I have a few areas where I’d like suggestions as well.
The goal is to accommodate future home automation needs (i.e., Konnected.io, Envisalink, etc.) though initially used solely for anti-burglary and life safety. I’d like to pay for all equipment upfront.
Current plan
- Sensors, hardwired
- ~20 window sensors, recessed, looped. ($8/unit, Honeywell 951WG)
- 7 exterior doors, recessed ($8/unit, Honeywell 951WG, brown)
- 5 interior doors, recessed ($8/unit, Honeywell 951WG, brown)
- 5 smoke/co combo (?)
- 1 flood detection (?)
- 2 low temperature sensors (?)
- Security System
- 3 IQ Hardwire 16 QS7131-840 (Up to 48 hardwired zones)
- 1 Qolsys IQ 4 (319.5Mhz)
- 2 Qolsys IQR-PG (remote panels)
- Installer and dealer codes available to homeowner for third-party integration s
We will likely have a home automation engine, though not yet decided on brand/vendor. Currently mulling over Control4, Josh.ai, or patchworked DIY system for tinkering ability.
Installer should have experience working and integrating alongside other specialized teams: lighting & controls, HVAC, A/V, surveillance & access control.
Areas I’d like support and suggestions:
- Smoke/co detectors – Does IQ Hardwire support power reset for these detectors?
- Flood detection – what do you recommend? Water Bug?
- Low temperature sensors – open to suggestions
Happy to take DMs if that makes conversation easier! We have a CAD package available for planning purposes.
Appreciate all.
