Fire vs. Burglar Tradeoff
Hello,
I moved into a new apartment a few months ago and there’s a pretty big safety issues i’m trying to address. I live on the ground floor and the window to my bedroom has essentially no security: the bars on the window are only attached on one side and can be swung open if any burglar approaches it. My landlord says it’s to provide an extra escape route in the case of a fire but i live in an area where burglaries are a bigger concern and i also noticed a sort of latch next to the window on the inside that indicates the bars could disengage even when locked in with the proper setup. Any solutions would be appreciated!
