Needing a new DVR/NVR…no idea how to make it work.

I have a camera system from Amcrest, that I’m thoroughly dissatisfied with. The old box had a failing hard drive and some access issues. I bought a newer one from them for easier access (read: being able to change the password without calling into support). But hard drives failing left and right with it as well. Across both systems, I’ve tried 5 total hard drives (all designed for these systems).

So I’m looking to move away from them. But they’re the only system I can see that supports coax/BNC connectors.

Looking for recommendations on new systems, and if necessary, what to switch the connector type to. Not really wanting to re-run cable if I can get away with it.
