Count the red flags for me here.

So, say someone on a social media platform threatens to ban your friend’s account if they don’t pay them $2000 and then your friend has someone on the “inside” of the social media platform tells them of an “attack on their account” and how they’re “protecting them.”

Say that someone’s company is potentially being targeted by another company.

The threatening and DMing account has a threatening bio “banned in 24 hours.” Has 5k fake followers and follows themselves. The DMing threatening account is then deleted minutes after discussing this with the friend and his protector friend.

Enumerate the red flags above please.

Questions:

is it possible for a big social media employee/contractor to prevent bans, blocks, shadow bans and to inform you of who is doing them or when they’re doing them? And he does it for $300 btw (friend paid for this service).

What kind of an attack could be launched that would cause an account to be banned that quickly that would cause a social media platform to ban your account?

What is this kind of scam called?

Is my friend in on it?
