The election committee of the Arizona Senate held a hearing on January 23, 2023 featuring the results of an investigation into Maricopa County’s 2022 midterm election conducted by the election integrity group We the People AZ (WPAZ). Commissioned by outgoing Senate President Karen Fann (R-Prescott), the group submitted public records requests to Maricopa County Elections Department to obtain the data. Rand Paul: President Biden says he won’t negotiate over raising the debt ceiling. I have news for him. he absolutely will negotiate. Conservatives will not vote to raise the debt ceiling. The majority in the House, Republican majority of the House, will not vote to raise the debt ceiling without significant budget reform. The greatest threat to our country is, and the greatest threat to our national security is, the debt. one of the great things about where we are now though is it really doesn’t take as much as you would think to actually balance the budget. In Europe over half of the countries balance their annual budget. We think of Europe of Germany and Sweden of having these large governments, and they do, but they’re actually fiscally responsible in the sense that they spend what comes in. We could do it in our country. If we were to have a 100 billion dollar cut, which would still have us spending way more than we spent before COVID, a 100 billion dollar cut, in free spending, we would balance our budget in just four years. This is amazing. We have an opportunity here, it could be done, but it would take compromise between both parties. Republicans would have to give up the sacred cow that says we will never touch a dollar in military and the Democrats would have to give up the sacred cow that they will never touch a dollar in welfare. Everything would have to be looked at across the board. No one has a sacred area that would be immune, and when you make the cuts across the board, they aren’t as big as you’d actually think they would be. During a World Economic Forum 2023 Panel entitled “100 Days to Outrace the Next Pandemic” Former Prime Minister Tony Blair says it all:I think there’s a huge impetus now for a national digital infrastructure. Digitization in healthcare is, I think, one of the great game changers. You know we should be helping countries to develop a national digital infrastructure which they will need with these new vaccines. And then, you know, finally it’s, it’s also about showing people, and showing the political leadership, that you can make a positive difference to your health care system by adopting these measures because they’ve got a, they’ve got an impact beyond any particular disease and or ,or pandemic. So, I think if you want to keep the political focus, and I agree it’s vital that you do, you’ve got to show people that this is a continuing issue, right it’s not a future issue, it’s here and now, it’s got a broad set of implications, and there are a set of solutions that COVID has taught us arising out of the challenges of COVID, to which, if we apply the right political will, we can make our healthcare systems better, not just for pandemic and disease, but more generally for the health of the population. If you do that, if you do that they’ll think there are votes in it and, you know, if there are votes in it they will focus.And I also think this, this issue to do with the technology and the digital infrastructure, I just want to emphasize how important I think that is, because in the end you need the data. You need to know who’s been vaccinated and who hasn’t been. Some of the vaccines that will come on down the line will be multiple, will be multiple shots.
